Solutions Consultant
The Role:
To deliver chargeable consultative services to the customer base
To provide application / technical assistance and support to the Account
Management (AM) Team.
To help define and resolve specific customer requirements
To develop and engineer acceptable solutions to meet business needs
identified.
 Delivers 'best-fit' solutions to meet customer¹s business needs using
relevant product and technical knowledge.
 Produces clear and specific documentation detailing customer's
requirements which are used in agreements of contracts and / or solution
development
 Prepares required demonstration equipment and carries out product
demonstrations where needed.
 Assists in the production of response to ITT / RFI documentation and
ensures that the solutions defined are agreed internally as being reasonable
and deliverable
 Maintains customer relationships through site visits and
tele-communications and is aware of the ongoing sales process between
customer and Account Manager.
 Produces monthly reports of customer activity and sales opportunities.
 Maintains industry business knowledge as well as product / applications
knowledge, both for the branded application software products and relevant
Third Party products
 Represents the department at branded the application software seminars and
road-shows.
 Supports the AM team in the sales process including demonstrations as well
as identifying solutions and sales opportunities.
 Identifies and works with solution providers both internally and
externally to achieve satisfactory customer solutions.
 Develops and delivers chargeable Consultancy Services.
 Works with the Product Development Managers to help specify new products,
recommend product enhancements and identifies product sale opportunities.
The Person:
EXPERIENCE
 Relevant industry experience and knowledge of broker business processes.
 Wide IT experience particularly in PC applications and solutions.
 Working knowledge of Sales Order Processing
 An understanding of the application development process and product
lifecycle.
 Has experience of delivering contracted solutions to external customers
 Understanding of relevant application software and it¹s role in the market
place.
 Has received formal training in the pre-sales process
 Has 6 months experience in consultancy, training, IT support or similar
role.
 Competent working knowledge of MS Office together with VBA and similar
application tools development for automated and integrated solutions.
